Preserving Filipino Heritage

At PAANC, we believe that the preservation of our heritage is more than just continuing cultural activities—it is an educational journey. Since our founding in 1984, we have been dedicated to ensuring that every participant and spectator understands the deep historical roots of our traditions.

  • Contextual Performing Arts: Our cultural programs, such as traditional dance, go beyond the choreography. We educate our members and the public on the history of each dance, explaining its regional origins, the stories behind the movements, and the cultural significance of the attire.

  • The International Festival (IFR) & Public Outreach: In all our major programs, including the International Festival (IFR), we act as cultural ambassadors. We utilize these platforms to provide robust educational displays and narratives that teach the wider North Carolina community about the enduring legacy of the Philippines.

  • Integrated Heritage Learning: This educational ethos is woven into every initiative. Whether through music, art, or festivals, PAANC ensures that the "how" of our traditions is always paired with the "history," preserving the integrity of our heritage for future generations.
